We are acting on behalf of a market leading bank based in the UK. This organization has been growing successfully for the last three years and is now ready to enter a new phase of growth.
This role will be in the commercial bank strategy team. The commercial banking division has been performing strongly for several years now and has recently been identified as a key growth driver for the business in the last strategic review. This is an opportunity to join a strongly performing team that has been a key factor in the banks sustained growth.
Reporting to the Head of Strategy for the Commercial Bank as a number 2, the Strategy Director will be responsible for supporting the strategy relationship with CB’s Product areas, albeit that there will also be significant exposure to other business areas. Working with the Product MDs and their leadership teams, the individual will drive thought leadership, harnessing insight and market trends to significantly influence a shared view on strategic goals and investment priorities.
This role will take a leadership position in the formation for the bank’s next three year strategy for the future of the Commercial Bank as well as looking at the group wide strategy.
Our client is looking to find someone that can step up into Head of Strategy position within the Commercial Bank in as short as 18 months.
• 6+ years of relevant experience, ideally with a strategy consulting background and time within a financial services corporate environment
• Good knowledge of Banking, ideally Commercial Banking with a specialism in Transaction Banking or Markets products and services
• Strong stakeholder management experience essential with corresponding excellent communication and influencing skills observable.
