OVERVIEW
Our client is a privately held consumer goods company, who have shaped their industry through high-quality products, superior innovation and a portfolio of popular brands. As they enter the next phase of their growth journey, they have created a position for a Vice President to lead their Global Procurement & Strategic Sourcing.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The position leads the Global Procurement & Sourcing function to deliver maximized total value of ownership savings, supplier partnership and develop leading edge Procurement capabilities. Reports to the Chief Supply Chain Officer. This position is a key strategic position covering all spend for the company (Direct material, Indirect material, Contract manufacturing, procurement analytics & Center of Excellence) to make our Supply Chain a competitive advantage for the business.

  • Accountable for the strategy and performance of ~$800MM of purchased goods & services
  • Manages a direct staff of 5 (Direct material, Direct Packaging Material, Contract Manufacturing, Indirect and Center of Excellence) and a team of ~25 (Directors, Senior Managers/Managers, Analysts), guides in technical, strategic, and tactical skill gap assessment and develop training/development opportunities to the team
  • Responsible for Total Delivered Cost (P&L Center), strategic sourcing, value generation through design-to-value initiatives, contract management and category management functions while supporting procure-to-pay process
  • Interact closely with the Senior Leadership team of the company in the development of a globally aligned, best-in-class procurement organization
  • Creation and management of short, mid, and long-term goals, objectives and ensure the relevant KPIs to measure the group’s progress are met, instituting the key initiatives necessary to deliver the results.
  • Cost reduction and avoidance that offsets partially both inflation and commodity market increase and create plan to expand the margin.
  • Delivers maximized total value of ownership savings, through consolidated supply base and leverage volume practices.
  • Executional excellence in delivery of procurement initiatives, quality, and supplier performance.
  • Establish supplier stewardship regimen to ensure comprehensive engagement with suppliers; to drive improved supplier and performance through metrics and joint objectives.
  • Development of benchmarks and metrics including a routine scorecard to set baseline standards and review for improvement opportunities
  • Will be a visionary procurement leader and change agent who will transform the procurement strategy to align with the company’s ambition and reframed global operating model
  • Active role in Partner Advisory Council (PAC), including providing industry leadership opportunity, drive initiatives with PAC that positively impacts supplier partners
  • Leads the Food Procurement function (food ingredients for manufacturing locations, and management of external manufacturing suppliers), sets direction for the organization, and ensures Procurement presence at leadership levels
Creation and improvement of best practice-based processes
  • Participate actively of M&A activities and integration of new business
  • Building credibility with internal and external global stakeholders while providing strategic thought leadership to the overall business
  • Creating an effective culture with best-in-class procurement talent with a strong pipeline for all critical succession positions
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand business requirements/needs, and formulate procurement category strategies to meet those needs, develop strategic suppliers and category teams to expedite delivery of these strategies
  • Manages change and communications and Procurement related processes and tools that enhance the performance of the Procurement function.
  • Ensures adherence to all company policies and procedures.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Must have industry experience from Consumer Goods / Fast Moving Consumer Goods (required)
  • Must have experience from a top-tier Strategy Consultancy (required) with projects focused on Procurement, Supply Chain Management & Strategic Sourcing
  • BA/BS in Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, or Accounting (preferred) or Minimum of 15 years of Supply Chain and Sourcing experience
  • External Manufacturing (Contract Manufacturing, Contract Packing, Semi/Finished Goods)
