​We are working on a high impact Director of Data role for a Private Equity backed Software/Technology business looking to hire a Director of Data to lead both their Data Engineering & Data Product teams for their Chicago HQ.
This is a high impact role, working directly with the CDO, to spearhead development of go-to-market, commercial solutions and rebuild the internal data environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Advance the data foundations strategy to scale the use of data and analytics across the CG, acting as a catalyst for data and analytics to enable the organization to create value
  • Directly lead large and medium scale projects to strengthen our data foundations and develop new go-to-market products
  • Engage with stakeholders to develop deep understanding of our customers, organizational strategy, and priorities, establishing strategic roadmaps to support the achievement of business objectives
  • Lead and drive master data management, data lineage, data dictionary, and data literacy throughout the organization
  • Collaborate with data architecture, data science, analytics, and business intelligence colleagues to ensure alignment and execution of shared objectives, including data source integration and platform evolution
  • Motivate and lead a high-performance team by attracting, developing, engaging and retaining team members
Minimum Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience, including hands-on experience in data engineering and data management with 5+ years leading teams
  • Experience leading geographically dispersed teams
  • Hands on expertise with Spark, Databricks, Python, dbt, Azure
  • MLOps, Feature Store, and Model Serving design, implementation, and operations
  • Extensive experience partnering with stakeholders and working with highly technical developers and analysts, with an ability to earn trust
