Private Equity. This makes up the bulk of the work, and initially will be through doing GP style co-investments. They will invest minority stakes but always hold influence within those businesses through Board seats.
Public Equities. This will be focused on minority stakes in large publicly listed businesses. Special Situations/Credit Facilities. Opportunistic investments across the capital structure
REQUIREMENTS:
Highly analytical skillset. You will need excellent understanding of financial analysis and valuation techniques as you will spend extensive time going through public and private filings of potential investments. Excellent communication skills. A strong command of Excel, PowerPoint and being able to present findings in a clear and concise manner to investment committee. You will need to distil this information in a way that is easily understandable for those who have not been deep in the information, and understand that investing can be more of an art than a science. The ability to walk others through your reasoning and thinking about an investment is crucial. Malleable and open minded attitude and approach. The team will help guide and mould how you think about wisely deploying capital within their investment thesis to generate returns. The right candidate will be able to bring their own thoughts on investments to the table, backed up with facts and data, but will also need to be willing to learn and flexible in how they approach investing.
