The Barton Partnership have been retained to support a leading Media / Telecom company to hire a Director Product Strategy & Portfolio Management. This position will lead all strategy and value creation initiatives for new product development.
Responsibilities include:
  • Value Creation, cost and margin responsibility, both for new introductions as well as existing portfolio
  • Identify, propose, develop and implement new business opportunities, solutions, and go-to-market strategies to address market needs.
  • Ownership of the total product/pricing/promotion portfolio
  • Design and optimize product offering structure, with a customer centric approach
  • Lead Strategic Partnership selection for new products and services teaming with the “Product Management” team
  • Perform market, competitive, and operating model analysis drawing insight to support market entry/exits, new product development, regulatory impacts and cross-business initiatives
  • Own business cases for future adjustments in product portfolio strategy execution
  • Evaluate and assess current strategy and performance to improve execution, delivery or exit. Champion solutions in new business pitches and demonstrations in the marketplace to expand awareness and build momentum.
  • Identify and executing on M&A opportunities in partnership with Corporate Development
  • Support activities including strategic planning, Board initiatives, M&A, business development, and partnership initiatives.
  • Prepare reports to update the executive leadership team on industry trends, market share, competitor and adjacent market developments, companies of interest, and customers
  • Supervise team members and third-party vendors
  • Other strategy and product analysis responsibilities as assigned
  • Must have 8-10 years’ experience executing strategy within a Management Consulting or Big4 environment - media or telecommunications industries is a plus
  • Experience in a leadership role responsible for creating and implementing strategic plans
  • Demonstrated success launching product offers and value management in either telecom, media, technology or consumer goods industries.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize based on high-level goals and objectives
  • Experience implementing new processes and best practices
  • Adaptability and flexibility to operate in a fast-paced and highly evolutionary environment
