Our History

It's been quite a journey from 2007 to today. Here is a snapshot of some of the highlights along the way!

The launch of The Barton Partnership

Following a successful £17m MBO at his previous firm, Nicholas Barton launched The Barton Partnership with a focus on the strategy market.

The early years…

By 2010 the business had grown to 10 people and John Zafar was appointed as our first Non-Executive Director.

Business expansion continues...

Between 2011 and 2013 the business continued to grow rapidly, moving to larger offices, increasing headcount and developing new global partnerships. In 2014 we grew a network of top-tier Independent Consultants to offer our clients Consulting Solutions.

New territories...

With a growing client base across Europe and the US we opened our first international office in New York.We appointed Oliver Phoenix as Managing Director and continued to grow, establishing a Research Academy to support graduate hires.

More global growth...

We opened offices in Paris and Singapore, grew to 70 employees, achieved record turnover and received two prestigious industry awards.

Global

In 2016 we opened our first international office in New York. Since then we have continued to expand our global footprint, opening offices in Paris and Singapore.

We have a fantastic network across Europe, APAC and the US. Our overseas client base is rapidly expanding and we have hired multi-lingual graduates and experienced hires to focus on specific markets, offering them a fantastic path to build their own desks.

We invest in the social side of our business; our activities have included a ski trip for the top performers, a company-wide conference in Spain, a day at the races, quarterly breakfasts, cinema trips, escape rooms, team dinners, and of course the weekly social on a Friday! We always look forward to the top secret events our Social Committee has in store for us!
