My client is a leading Retail & E-Commerce business that is a leading player in the UK market. They have grown exponentially since their inception less than 20 years ago and are now building out a new proposition under a senior figure in the e-commerce space (ex-McKinsey/BCG).

More specifically, this team is looking to take their existing market leading product which the business has developed over the last few years and look to partner with other businesses, be it large FTSE listed of SMEs, across the Retail and FMCG space to aid them with the development of their ecommerce offering. The role itself is atypical as it is an interesting mix of Strategy, Product Development and Business Development and offers a chance to actually influence the direction of this team of proposition over the next few years rather than being purely top down.

ROLE:
  • Management and execution of sales project plan for defined existing and prospective clients
  • Develop a strong personal understanding of customer trends and requirements in the global retail market and the strategic move to online delivery by traditional retailers and contribute to team understanding of all potential clients, client needs, and industry dynamics ensuring that data and information is up to date and relevant
  • Contribute to predicting industry trends and identifying opportunities for OS sales both with new clients and additional sales for existing clients
  • Be the lead contact for current and new client relationships as defined using listening, consultancy and selling skills to understand client needs and issues, provide possible solutions for client consideration and define a workable and realistic project plan within commercial constraints
  • Advise clients beyond immediate business issues and help them define the strategic direction for their organisation
  • Liaise with and build productive working relationships with subject matter experts across the business to facilitate successful pre and post sales activities
  • Be responsible for measuring, monitoring and reporting progress on defined projects
  • Identify issues and problems, recommending approaches to address them, testing quality of data and reconciling data across sources, and presenting facts and evidence in meetings
  • Be responsible for multiple (between three and five) potential and live clients at varying levels of business development maturity at any one time
  • Responsible for successful transition to Strategic Account Management post implementation
REQUIREMENTS:
  • 4-8 years experience within a Tier 1 or a leading boutique strategy environment
  • Demonstrable experience in leading work streams and liaising with senior stakeholders
  • Expertise within the retail space is advantageous
