Our client is Chief Strategy Officer of a privately-owned business operating across the global consumer goods, consumer health and pharmaceutical industries. Having been through a period of significant growth, the ambitious strategic plan continues to focus on growing the business organically and through acquisition.
As a result, we have been retained to build a high calibre Strategy and M&A team, with the current Director search the key hire at present. The ideal candidate will bring a mix of professional and business backgrounds, with one prerequisite for this hire will be a background in top tier consulting. The progression possibilities are very aligned to future P&L or GM positions, so future potential is part of the assessment
Reporting into the Chief Strategy Officer, you will be owning the business strategic planning and leading key strategic projects with significant regional impact. You will also play a role as ‘right hand’ to the Chief Strategy Officer in acting as a strategic sparring partner in investigating and evaluating strategic options, driving the ExCom agenda and creating communication material to key stakeholders (up and across the line).
Develop and drive the strategy projects and objectives at national, regional and global level.
Lead the business planning / strategy development for the Business Unit leaders in close collaboration with their teams and central functions
Lead and facilitate line organisation into implementation and business plan traction process
Own and drive the development and roll-out of regional strategic plans
Contribute towards business case and strategic rational development in M&A situations
Key internal interfaces:
Chief Strategy Officer
Regional leaders and Business Unit leaders
Central functions such as Finance, Legal, Sales, Marketing, Innovation etc.
Top-tier strategy consulting experience + relevant experience across either Consumer Market or Pharma space
Experience working on projects across different countries, ideally including Asia Pacific and emerging markets
Experience working in a highly matrixed environment
Excellent communication skills at all levels
High level of energy and drive – gets things done whatever it takes
Ability to execute through influence
