Position Summary
Seeking a results-driven sourcing expert to lead global procurement of key battery raw materials (e.g., copper foil, PET, PP film, lithium metal). This role requires strategic sourcing, supplier development, and commercial negotiation capabilities across global markets—especially Asia. Ideal for a self-starter with deep raw material knowledge, strong business acumen, and experience working independently in fast-paced, cross-functional environments.
Responsibilities
Report to the Global Head of Supply Chain & Logistics sitting in the Global Supply Chain Function
Develop and execute global and multi-sourcing strategies for battery-critical raw materials.
Manage end-to-end procurement processes: PO execution, delivery tracking, invoice resolution, and supplier performance.
Identify, qualify, and onboard new global suppliers (with a focus on Asia) in collaboration with R&D, Quality, and EHS.
Ensure on-time delivery and capacity alignment with short-, mid-, and long-term demand forecasts.
Drive material cost reduction initiatives, focusing on total cost (material, duty, logistics, packaging, etc.).
Secure and manage supplier contracts (pricing, exclusivity, NDAs, framework agreements).
Resolve quality issues in coordination with cross-functional teams; lead commercial recovery for supplier defects.
Support R&D in supplier pre-selection and material feasibility assessments.
Maintain 50–100 POs annually; manage inventory, claims, and ERP transactions.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, or Business with a technical focus.
Proven track record and experience in global sourcing, ideally in raw materials for batteries / chemicals / electronics / related goods
Proven negotiation success with C-level supplier contacts, experience with Asia-based suppliers with cross-cultural communication skills.
Hands-on, independent working style; capable of owning both strategy and execution, self-starter who thrives in autonomy and ambiguity
Strategic thinker with tactical execution skills in a lean environment, strong analytical, commercial, and project management skills.
Fluent in English, additional Asian languages (Chinese and/or Korean is advantageous)
Willingness to travel internationally
