Our client is a mid-cap multinational biopharma business going through a growth phase and are in the process of building a new Strategy function, which is to report into the Executive Committee. The Barton Partnership is retained to source this business-critical Head of Strategy who will have group wide responsibility for organisation’s strategy agenda. With privileged access to ExCo, ExCo-1 and other senior leaders, this function (and team to build) has been set up to ensure the growth strategy agenda is taken to effective execution, whilst giving the jobholder the platform to take a significant leadership role in the future.
Reporting to the Chief Strategy Officer, the Head of Corporate Strategy is accountable for creating and embedding all aspects of Corporate Strategy. The Head of Corporate Strategy is accountable for ensuring each business unit has an embedded and robust strategy, which will collectively deliver the corporate strategy for the business. The Corporate Strategy agenda is to take recommendations through to implementation, with an expectation of up to 90% execution of projects.
This is a newly created centralized strategy function, replacing what has historically been a divisional strategy led approach, will operate as an umbrella function to work with the business units.
- First-hand experience of working with, or as part of a senior leadership team /strategy team and/or a top-tier management/strategy consulting firm
- Junior Partner/Principal level at a top tier consultancy or an equivalent level in a corporate environment
- Extensive experience and passion for the biopharma market and wider healthcare and life sciences industries
- A passion for engaging the patient and improved patient care
