The opportunity

Join a top-tier commercial due diligence advisory team supporting private equity and corporate investors. You will step in as a workstream lead on fast-paced CDD and VDD engagements, partnering with experienced managers and directors to deliver decision-grade insights under tight timelines.

What you will do

As a workstream lead, you will own one or more of the following:

Primary research (phone program)

  • Build outreach lists and identify the right experts (customers, non-customers, competitors, industry specialists)

  • Design interview guides that tie directly to the diligence hypotheses

  • Conduct interviews and manage junior team members supporting call execution

  • Synthesize insights into clear takeaways and implications for the diligence storyline

Web survey design and field management

  • Draft surveys to answer key diligence questions and define sampling strategy

  • Manage vendors and fieldwork, including screeners, quotas, and quality controls

  • Create an analysis plan, define cuts/segments, and direct supporting analytics resources

  • Translate results into concise, decision-relevant conclusions

Market sizing and modeling

  • Build and maintain robust, client-ready Excel models (multi-tab, formula-driven workbooks)

  • Integrate secondary and primary research inputs into assumptions and outputs

  • Align model design with the diligence story and the decisions the client needs to make

  • Summarize model outputs clearly in PowerPoint

Communication and storybuilding

  • Convert findings into crisp slides and structured narratives

  • Present workstream updates confidently in team working sessions

What success looks like
  • You ramp quickly with minimal training and drive your workstream end-to-end

  • You are a strong thought partner, not a solo executor

  • You communicate clearly, show good judgment, and keep teams moving at sprint pace

Qualifications
  • 3+ years in strategy consulting, CDD/VDD, or closely related work (independent consulting experience is a plus)

  • Meaningful reps leading CDD/VDD workstreams, including primary research and synthesis

  • Strong Excel skills (complex models, cross-sheet formulas, structured workbooks)

  • Strong PowerPoint and writing skills (client-ready outputs)

  • Comfortable with intensity and ambiguity in 3-week sprint cycles

  • Confident, collaborative, and able to contribute in working sessions

Logistics
  • Must be able to work in-office three days per week in Boston, NYC, or Chicago

  • Equipment and onboarding support will be provided at assignment start
