My client is a FTSE100 Alcoholic Beverages business, recently commended for outperforming the sector during a long period of disruption. Made up of former top-tier consultants, the Group Strategy function is widely regarded as an internal talent pool in the organisation, which works closely with the company Executive and all 21 Market Unit Managing Directors. The team have a demonstrable track record of promotions into accelerated career roles outside of strategy, including General Management roles.
The team is accountable for creating and embedding the company’s global strategy, and ensuring the strategies of markets and functions globally are consistent with the Group Strategy. Strategy Managers will be leading projects with a value-at-stake typically £100m+, whilst leading other critical projects. The team reports directly into the CSO, and ex-Bain Partner, and therefore individuals within the team are expected to effectively communicate with, and influence the Executive Committee. There company has ambitious plans to expand operations emerging markets including Africa, India, and Latin America, for which the Group Strategy team is responsible for formulating a rigorous strategy for each market.
