We are recruiting a Global Strategy Director for a major FMCG multinational who have recently seen consecutive periods of growth whilst the wider sector goes through disruption. Made up of a group of former top tier consultants, the Strategy function is widely regarded as an internal talent pool in the business, which works closely with the company Executive and all Regional Presidents and Managing Directors. The team have a demonstrable track record of promotions into accelerated career roles outside of strategy, including General Management roles, so there is an emphasis placed on the recruitment into this team that is higher than similar teams across the organisation.
The Global Strategy Director is accountable for working with the Executive Committee as well as the Regional Presidents and MDs, with the aim to create and embed a strategy for the group and each of their Markets.
Key accountabilities include:
-Team management of a high performing team of former ex-consultants
-Accountability for each market having a robust strategy which collectively will deliver the group strategy.
-Specific intervention with MDs leading to in market strategic work or strategic reviews.
-Cross market capability building through programmes such as scenario planning.
-Content development for the ASC
-Sounding board for MDs on strategic questions / judgements.
-Partner to BD in evaluating whether transactions will solve strategic challenges at an acceptable return.
-MBA skills / knowledge
-Strategy consulting experience
-Industry experience as an advantage
-Emerging market experience / background an advantage
-‘Experienced’ functional and leadership capabilities across all capabilities defined.
