This role offers the opportunity to drive true organisational transformation and service development, aligned to a strategic and complex, multi-year Govt Programme. This is a hybrid role, with your time focused across Swindon, London and working from home. In October 2023, UKSBS became the recommended shared service provider to the Matrix Cluster of the Govt's large, complex, Matrix Programme. This is a clear endorsement of all the hard work and effort underway at UKSBS. They have adjusted their strategic themes to reflect the journey ahead, recognising technology, data, user experience and agile practices underpin all that they do and this post will assist in the further development of this theme.

The Executive team is leading the organisation on a major transformation journey so that UKSBS successfully strengthens its partnership with the Government’s Matrix Programme to deliver ambitious goals of providing a step change in shared service delivery to nine departments of state. They are a collegiate leadership team with a broad range of commercial and public sector backgrounds and their working environment is inclusive and supportive and ensures they challenge each other to ensure they take accountability to achieve their shared ambition.
Directed by the Chairman and working closely with the Executive team, the Board and their partners in Government, you will be responsible for:
Leading and developing a team of professional experts to effectively deliver UKSBS Transformation as part of the Government’s Matrix Programme.
Work with the Chief Change Officer (CCO) to integrate Matrix Transformation activity with other UKSBS change priorities and report progress to the Board, Owners, and other partners.
Championing modern, agile, effective, and efficient programme and project disciplines.
Ensuring the UKSBS and the Matrix Programme jointly secure services and partnerships.
Lead partner transformation, working with the CCO to engagement with the Matrix Programme Government Departments, ensuring benefits are delivered.
You may also be asked to undertake ad hoc activities in support of the Board and CEO
Knowledge, skills and experience needed:
Essential:
A significant specialist background in driving transformational change and major programme leadership in a shared service environment.
Experience of building and maintaining strong working relationships at a senior executive level within an organisation and with clients, suppliers, and other partners.
Strong commercial focus and building better engagements.
Close senior involvement with shared service improvement and major ERP implementation.
Demonstrable experience of business case development, budgeting, planning and analysis, and significant project / programme delivery.
Desirable:
Expertise in digital and business transformation, innovation, and adoption of cloud/SaaS.
Experience of agile development and delivery, and others measures such as such as Lean
Six Sigma.Experience in the public sector.Likely to be educated to degree level.
