We're working with a client in the CPG / Food sector, helping them build their Corporate Development team. This team will be highly active in the global market over the next five years and beyond focusing on key growth areas including, but not limited to, emerging markets, priority adjacencies and capability builds. Reporting directly to the SVP of Corporate Development, this role is an excellent opportunity to join a large global team that influences long-term company-wide investment initiatives. The role can be hybrid but based in Chicago, IL and will have competitive compensation.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Build strong relationships and serve as a strategic advisor and an M&A liaison to the C-Suite.
  • Develop a robust acquisition pipeline and portfolio strategy.
  • Lead all aspects of transaction execution including project management, due diligence and negotiation, documentation. Work closely with business teams, internal functional (e.g. legal, accounting, tax, etc.), and outside advisors to support execution.
Requirements:
  • 10 + years of corporate development, private equity, venture capital, investment banking or top-tier strategy consulting experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Effective in leading, influencing, motivating, and achieving goals through formal and informal channels. Ability to build relationships and establish trust quickly and encourage collaboration.
  • Prior integration experience in a lead or partner role would be a plus.
  • Minimum a Bachelor’s degree; advanced business degree (MBA or equivalent) strongly preferred
