Role Purpose
This is a key hire as the organisation strengthens its strategy function. Reporting to the Strategic Planning Director, the role holder provides dedicated analytical and execution support for the company's strategic planning and transformation agenda, supporting senior management to advance the Group towards achievement of the CEO and Board's mandates and strategic priorities.
The manager works as a trusted right hand to the Director to manage and deliver the engagement cadence with senior management and Board of Directors successfully. Additionally, to conduct business growth and other strategic studies, analyse industry developments, and manage the steady progress of strategic initiatives towards agreed targets and timelines. This is a high-visibility role suited to an analytically strong professional who can operate with autonomy.
Key Responsibilities
Perform the following under the Strategic Planning Director's guidance and delivers together:
A. Strategic Planning Cycle
Conduct analyses on near and midterm industry developments (customers, competitors, macroeconomic/geopolitical etc) to identify market shifts, opportunities and emerging risks impacting the Group
Assess internal capability strengths and gaps to further build the Group's competitive advantages
Drive the strategic planning annual group-wide exercise and periodic reviews, workshops, discussion materials, templates and inputs from business and support units
Develop submissions into a coherent corporate strategy with prioritised strategic themes and clear ownership of strategic initiatives, success metrics and timelines
B. Leadership & Board Engagement Cadence
Drive agendas and materials preparation of weekly and monthly leadership team meetings to ensure critical issues, progress of strategic initiatives and Board mandates / agenda topics are discussed for cross-functional alignment, resolutions and advancement to schedules
Co-ordinate inputs from and perform analyses with internal teams and external partners; prepare high-quality Board meeting presentations and management discussion and analysis materials
Ensure clear and compelling narratives to the Board to foster leadership team confidence; and co-ordinated alignment between the leadership team on related issues, priorities and initiatives
C. Transformation Portfolio
Track and report the Group's strategic and transformation initiatives against agreed targets, timelines and success metrics
Escalate risks, advocate for resolutions and suggest corrective actions, align between leadership team and workstream leads where necessary
D. Strategic Studies
Conduct market research, commercial and strategic analyses, as well as financial evaluations on new business plans and other reviews, as assigned by the CEO
Develop analytical frameworks, financial models, strategic options and manage timelines, in partnership with relevant teams and external stakeholders
Role Specification
Essential Experience & Qualifications
At least 8–10 years of progressive experience in corporate strategy, management consulting, corporate finance, or a strategic planning / analytical role, ideally within a multinational or regional
HQA degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or Strategy. A postgraduate qualification or professional certification (e.g. MBA, CFA) is advantageous
Strong research, financial modelling, and problem-structuring skills, with sound business judgement
Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel; familiarity with research and data tools (e.g. Bloomberg, Capital IQ) is a bonus
